Maternal Health - what do women really need
Written by Admin
Globally, over half a million women die every year during pregnancy or childbirth, and improving maternal health is one of the Millennium Development goals of the United Nations.
What is the situation for Aboriginal women in Manitoba? Dr. Nichole Riese, the previous associate director of the Northern Medical Unit and a medical field worker with Doctors Without Borders, delves into the topic. Dr. Riese continues to work up north, and is the chair of the Maternal and Perinatal Health Standards Committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
The presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. at the University Women’s Club of Winnipeg, at 54 West Gate.
