10 Questions Fall 09

101. What’s your dream job?
If you asked me a few years ago, I would have said I have wanted to be an interior designer since grade 5. But as of now, it is whole-heartedly modelling. It is a really great opportunity and experience that I am really blessed to have!  I am very excited to see where it takes me and what is next.

2. Your favourite spot to shop in Winnipeg?
I really like to shop vintage, and make something old new again. Some good places in Winnipeg for that are the basement of Hooper’s (in the Exchange) and the Antique Mall in Osborne Village. I work in a high-end boutique (Swank Boutique) and love to shop there. They bring in a lot of pieces from designers overseas, New York and some local ones as well!

3. What was it really like behind the scenes at CNTM?
Long, hard days. We would shoot for anywhwere from 18-20 hours a day and at times it was pretty stressfull. However, the cast and crew was full of really great people and it made the days seem a little bit easier. Nonetheless it was always a blast.

4. Have you stayed in touch with anyone from the show?
Like I said, the whole cast and crew were great! So it makes it easy to want to stay in touch. I still talk to a bunch of the girls, production and post-production teams, as well as media invloved with the show.

5. The most interesting person of note you met because of CNTM?
While filming our go-sees in New York we had the chance to meet some really amazing desingers. Richie Rich was an absolute riot, lots of fun and tons of laughs. My personal favourite, though, was getting to meet Stacey Bendet who designs Alice&Olivia, which is one of my all time favourite designers. We worked with a handfull of very talented photographers, and one of my favourite to work with was Chris Nicholls, who shot our beauty shots.

6. Your favourite designer?
As I said in the previous question, Stacey Bendet’s line Alice&Olivia is one of my absolute favourites to wear and buy! Her whole collection is fun, flirty and youthful.

7. What do you think represents true beauty?
I believe true beauty is a good personality and a kind heart—beauty isn’t solely on the outside. You could be a pretty face, but if you have a bad personality and a cold heart, it just makes even the most beautiful look rather ugly.

8. Will you continue your studies in architecture?
I would love to, yes, it’s something I am still passionate about, so I am going to try to take distance courses. However, I still don’t know how well I will be able to juggle everything. I will take it one step at a time, and if I can’t do it now, I will for sure continue on with it later in life.

9. How do you stay grounded in the media circus this must be for you?
I feel as though I was raised pretty well, and I am 100 per cent supported by my friends and family. My family would always make sure my head was screwed on properly and my heart is where is should be.

10. Do you plan on staying in Winnipeg?
As for now, YES, I will be travelling so much it’s just as well that I stay at home. However, if my career needed me to relocate somewhere else, I am more then willing. Winnipeg will always be home, though.
