Do you have a favourite type of performance art?
My favourite type of performance art would be ballet, hands down.
Any shows you're planning on attending this season?
I would love to see The Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s “Wonderland," I am planning on seeing it with friends.
Winnipeg Harvest is a very busy place—how did the shoot go there?
Photographing Winnipeg Harvest was a great experience! Lots to see and lots to learn about. This organization has taken on so much responsibility and is happy to take care of Winnipeggers in need. They mostly run on volunteers and the people that I met there were so happy to be there, doing their part. It really was a privilege to be a part of it even for a day.
Number one on your fall "must-do" list?
This fall I am getting married, so my number one must-do for this fall is have a great wedding and celebrate lots with family and friends, and my new hubby!
Recent projects?
I am putting the finishing touches on my next book, called When Enlightening Strikes, Coach Yourself Happy! It has been a labour of love, a roller coaster of emotions and an amazing project. It's a motivation/self-help/inspiration/humour/memoir-ish type of book!
Number one on your fall to-do list?
Business–Fall is busy season for the speaking business, so lots of travel–fun, fun! Personally—To celebrate my 22nd wedding anniversary and to get outside as much as possible–more fun!
The most interesting crowd you've ever lectured for?
The Mayo Clinic was the most amazing because it was huge and I just couldn't believe I was on that stage, there, with other speakers who had more letters after their names than I had in my name. But the most fun audience was the construction workers who had to sit through the speakers to get the free lunch for their employee appreciation day. Imagine all these big, burly tough guys sitting back with their arms crossed, probably thinking, “Come on, motivate me—I dare you.” So I did, and we had a blast!
How many journals do you write in on a regular basis?
Three. I use my blog (www.YourLifeUnlimited.ca), because my business is about life and my life is pretty much an open book; it's a nice fit and works for me. I also have a gratitude journal for obvious reasons and a medical journal to keep track of all things health-related. I can see how, as the years go by, it's easy to forget when tests, procedures and such happened. I highly recommend starting one.
What you're most looking forward to this season?
My proposal for a Canadian Life Support for Nurses Gratitude Tour has been approved by the Pepsi Refresh Everything Campaign. I am so excited! It may very well be the only Winnipeg entry and will benefit healthcare for everyone by supporting the caregivers for a change. If you are a nurse, know a nurse or realize you or someone you love will need one some day, please vote now for this important project at www.refresheverything.ca/lifesupportfornursesgratitudetour.
