Get in the Halloween spirit and head on down to Safeway Boo at the Zoo at the Assiniboine Park Zoo from Oct. 14 until the 30. Enjoy pony rides, a carousel and a ghostly haunted house. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. on weekends and 6 p.m. on weekdays. Arrive early to avoid the line-ups! For more information, go to www.zoosociety.com/specialevents_boo.asp.
Learn easy pumpkin carving techniques and let your children create unique jack-o’-lanterns to decorate your doorstep. Gourds Galore takes place on Oct. 19 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
