Wine guru Tina Jones is co-owner of Banville & Jones, the province’s largest private wine retailer. This issue she lets us in on her reading list.
I am reading:
Crazy Busy: Overstretched, Overbooked, and About to Snap: Strategies for Coping in a World Gone ADD by Edward M. Hallowell. The title says it all! I am perplexed by the notion that everyone is so busy and seemingly getting busier. I try to balance my life between work and family but, in our increasingly demanding, high-speed world, it sometimes becomes a challenge. Find out how to “unsnarl your frantic life.” I have just read:
The Best Wine Bars and Shops of Paris: Fifty Charming and Notable Cavistes by Pierrick Jégu, Photographs by Caroline Rose. In this little gem of a book, Pierrick Jégu describes the best wine shops and wine bars in one of my favourite cities in the world…Paris. Being in the trade, it is very important to keep up with world wine trends and what better city to do that in than Paris? It is a magical tour in my quest to find the world’s best wines.
Up next:
Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. I think this is going to be a great book and many friends have told me it is a must read. I am interested in what successful people do, beyond being intelligent and driven. The book explains that: “the lives of outliers—those people whose achievements fall outside normal experience—follow a peculiar and unexpected logic. Gladwell presents a fascinating and provocative blueprint for making the most of human potential.”
