Build Your Backyard with Rona

Have you been thinking about that new flower garden, shrub bed, patio or deck re-do or outdoor BBQ area? 

RONA has the selection of great products you need to get the job done at the prices you want.

This summer, RONA and Winnipeg Women magazine have teamed up to help you get the yard you want and reward you with a chance to win RONA gift cards. We have made this easy to do, easy to enter, easy to love the result.

In order to participate, simply get an idea of the project you will undertake or the area that you want to improve and take a photo of this area so we know what you started with. Once you have this, head in to any Winnipeg or Winkler RONA location to get the products and help you need. All of our helpful associates are there to assist in making your yard look the way you want. Once you have your supplies, complete your project by our extended deadline of August 19th, 2011 and take the after photos. 

To Enter: Submit your entry details including value of your project (to determine the category you are in) and upload the before and after photos. If you prefer, you can drop off entries (simply print out this RONA ENTRY pdf) and photos at any Winnipeg or Winkler RONA location (Customer Service counter) by August 19th, 2011.

Category Details: The Build your backyard with RONA contest has three categories in which RONA gift cards will be awarded. The categories are based on the value of the total purchases made to make the improvements you do. This is calculated by adding the value of all purchases (before taxes) and submitting this amount with your photos. The total value of your entry must include a minimum of 75% of the value from purchases made at a Winnipeg or Winkler RONA location. The categories are:

• 1) $1,000-$2,499 (category 1)
• 2) $2,500-$4,999  (category 2)
• 3) $5,000+  (category 3)

Gift cards will be awarded as one per category in the following amounts:

• 1) $1,500 (category 1)
• 2) $3,500 (category 2)
• 3) $5,000 (category 3)

All you have to do is:

1. 1. 1) Take a “before” photo.
   2. 2) Make the improvements.
   3. 3) Take an “after” photo.

    

   *Seventy-five per cent of the purchases for your backyard renewal must be made at RONA. Copies of receipt(s) must be included with entry form. Contest runs from March 15 to August 19th, 2011.

    Build Your Backyard with Rona rules:
   1. 1) The contest is open to residents of Manitoba.
   2. 2) Contest runs from March 15- August 19, 2011.
   3. 3) All entries are to be received by midnight on August 19, 2011 in order to be eligible for the contest and judging period.
   4. 4) Entries can be sent electronically through a link on www.winnipegwomen.net, dropping off a physical entry at any Winnipeg or Winkler RONA customer service counter, or via mail to RONA Build Your Backyard contest, 65 Dewdney Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 0E1.
   5. 5) Employees of RONA, Barkman and Studio Media Group are not eligible to enter.
   6. 6) Contest entrants must keep all receipts related to the entry. a minimum of 75% of the value of the project must be purchases made at a Manitoba RONA store from March 15- August 19, 2011.
   7. 7) Entry is made by taking photos of the project area prior to beginning, completing the work and taking photos after completion. Upload these photos and the total value of the project in order to determine the category entering.
   8. 8) There are three categories for the contest: Project values (excluding taxes) of $1,000-$2,499, $2,500-$4,999 & over $5,000. The value is the entry is based on material purchases only. No labour costs, if applicable, are to be included.
   9. 9) Contest entrants will provide name, address, phone number and email address as well as photos and project value in order to enter. All RONA and Studio Media Group privacy rules will apply and no unsolicited information will be sent to entrants. You will be contacted with contest related information or promotions.
   10. 10) The contest will be judged by a panel consisting of representatives from Barkman, Studio Media Group and an independent landscaping company. Judging criteria will be based on improvements made to yards with the materials used, as well as utilization of existing materials. Preservation or improvements to the environment as well as reduction in water usage for maintenance will be taken into account as part of the judging.
   11. 11) Winners agree to have photos of entries published in Winnipeg Women magazine and online as well as promoted in RONA stores in Manitoba.
